The Joy(?) Of Creating A Personal Web Site
This little poem details the struggles and triumphs involved when someone sets out to create their first web site.
Twas a beatiful day when I sat down to start
Creating a homepage that came from my heart
I gathered some things that I thought would amuse
And found lots of links that I hoped all would use
I turned on the 'puter and started to type
Then I started to cuss and I started to gripe
So I read all the books and I surfed on the net
For any assistance or clue I could get
I learned most of the tags and a few of the tricks
I found all the shareware I downloaded gifs
The sun set and rose the days passed me by
If children can do this then why couldn't I?
I gave up on eating, forgot about sleep
The phone went unanswered I was in it too deep
I tried and I err'd and at last I could see
My word up on Netscape - God bless FTP!
I'm all out of coffee, now eating the grounds
My cigarette butts are now mountainous mounds
But I know it was worth all the trouble it took
'Cause you came and you saw and you'll sign my guestbook!
